About Us

Sakya Sujata Children Welfare Trust (SSCWT) is a non-profit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of children, women, and marginalized communities through holistic welfare initiatives.

Founded with the mission to provide equal opportunities and support for those in need, we focus on fostering education, healthcare, and empowerment in underprivileged communities.

SSWC-Trust, founded by Chandan Kumar Verma in 2002 and registered as an NGO in 2005, operates a licensed school in Sujata Village, 2 km from Bodhgaya, where Buddha attained enlightenment.

The village is named after Sujata, who offered rice milk to Prince Siddharta, ending his six years of asceticism.

How it started

Initial Journey

Welcome here!

Chandan wanted to give children from the poorest families in the area a chance to go to school. His father donated a piece of land where a small school building was built, initially without a roof.

Encouraging Students

Chandan initially visited local villages, encouraging parents to send their children to school, which remains free due to their inability to pay fees. He believes education is key to breaking the cycle of poverty, preventing children from falling into organized begging.
